Just about anything else you need you can find here in Hidalgo. There is not a big super market in town, but there are small stores like “Fruterias” o “Abarrotes”. You will be able to find for example: fabulous fresh fruit such as avocados, oranges, apples, pineapple, papaya, mangos and vegetables like tomatoes, onions, carrots, broccoli, peppers and some vegetables you may never have seen before. Also milk, bread, jelly, oatmeal, cereals, pastas, rice, spices, canned soups, corn and flour tortillas, tostadas and bottled water, sodas, juices and Gatorade. Almost any kind of meat is available. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list so if there is an item that you need information about, write to us.
Stores to purchase food:
At Fruteria La Mano de Dios you will be able to find everything at reasonable prices, it is a small super market located on Dr. Mier Street , half a block south of the main plaza.
Carniceria la Mexciana, is closer to Posada and you will be able to find supermarket products at reasonable prices as well.
Beer is affordable and easy to find. There are “Depositos” (beer and snacks stores), spread all over town and on El Potrero road. The most popular beers are the ones made by Cervecería Cuauhtémoc, (the largest brewing company in Mexico), like Tekate, Sol and Carta Blanca. Also you will be able to find the competition: Corona. Various brands of cold beer can also be purchased conveniently from our restaurant at competitive prices.
